Ferrari FXX K Battles Its Predecessors in Ferrari XX Customer Racing Sound Comparison

While Ferrari uses its XX customer racing program as a laboratory, the development also allows us to enjoy plenty of Prancing Horse delicacies. For instance, the video below, which shows a typical XX track day, allows us to make an aural comparison between the various members of the family.

This includes the current racing version of the LaFerrari, the FXX K and its predecessors, the 599XX Evo, the 599 XX and the Enzo-based FXX Evoluzione.

We'll mention all these cars owe their soundtracks to Ferrari F140 V12 engines - the current 65-degree configuration, which was introduced by the Enzo back in 2002.

However, while the FXX Evoluzione uses the DA 6,262 cc incarnation of the V12, the 599 racecars, as well as the FXX K, are motivated by the more recent CF version. Even so, the 599s pack a displacement of 5,999cc, while the FXX K stays true to the 6,262cc theme.

We're inviting you to check out the video below and choose your favorite voice, while we admit our heart goes to the FXX Evo - need we mention the late 2000s racecar has the same 860 hp output as the FXX K? Sure, the latest incarnation of the Corse Clienti dream also packs electric power, but that won't help it in this battle.

Nevertheless, the most notable change we've seen with the XX customer racing program lately is the new ownership policy, which allows customers to take their cars home.

While nothing is official, the rumor mill talks about the Italian carmaker no longer forcing customer to store their rides with the company when the machines are not in use.

Perhaps the birth of the McLaren P1 GTR customer racing scheme has influenced Maranello's decision, but we can only be happy about the fact that XX racecars can now also be enjoyed outside Ferrari's dedicated events.
