Ferrari Dealership Presents Special Photos from Tours

When a car maker opens a new dealership amid the doomed global downturn, there is surely a reason to celebrate.

Thus, after opening a new dealership in Tampa Bay last month, Ferrari of North America organized a special cocktail reception to celebrate the event. What was special about this reception was the fact that it was accompanied by a presentation of images from two of Ferrari's successful past driving events, the Ferrari Panamerica 20,000 tour and Magic India Discovery tour.

For those who don't know, two V12 Ferrari 599 GTB Fioranos  were used for the 2006 Panamerica 20,000 tour. The two cars travelled 20,000 miles through 16 countries starting with Brazil and ending with the east coast of the United States in 84-day journey. In order to cross the two continents, the cars had to travel through tropical  rain forests, arid deserts and snowy peaks. The journey had 15 stages in which 50 journalists from the whole world had the chance to get behind the wheel of the cars.

The other event, the Magic India Discovery tour, was held in India last year. The 12-stage journey started and ended in Mumbai and went through cities like Goa, Calcutta and New Delhi. It lasted 72 days and 11,000 miles were travelled by 50 journalists from the whole world in two specially designed Ferrari 612 Scagliettis.

Coming back to the reception itself, it displayed the standard production version of these two popular Ferrari V12's. Guests had the chance to see also the Ferrari's new V8 track-star 430 Scuderia, which boasts a 503 hp engine that rockets from 0-60 mph in under 3.6 second with a top speed of more than 198 mph.

The tour will continue to other Ferrari dealerships in the US until the end of spring.

After investing $9 million in the opening of the new dealership, we might assume that the Italian car maker faces no serious financial problems due to the global recession.
