Ferrari will introduce a facelifted version of the California at the Geneva Motor Show, with the production of the vehicle having already started. The revamp mainly targets the tech area of the vehicle, with the direct-injected V8 now delivering 490 hp and a peak torque of 505 Nm at 5,000 rpm (the torque curve has been optimized), with the unit using new exhaust manifolds and an ECU remap.
The vehicle is now 30 kg lighter thanks to “cutting-edge aluminium fabrication techniques and construction technologies used by the Scaglietti Centre of Excellence”. The California now needs 3.8 seconds to hit 62 mph.
In addition to that, Ferrari will introduce a Handling Speciale pack that brings Magnetorheological dampers controlled that come with a 50 percent quicker response time, stiffer sprins, as well as a 10 percent quicker steering.
