No, the Mustang beating the 812 Superfast story we have here is not exactly like the time when Ford one-upped Ferrari at Le Mans, be it the original 1960s adventure or the recent GTE adventure. However, seeing the pony leaving the Prancing Horse behind is undoubtedly worthy of our attention.
Now, before we dive any deeper into this topic, allow me to point out that the drag race between the two may or may not be entirely trustworthy.

You see, this is the kind of let's-show-off-for-social-media experiment, so one has to add the mandatory grain of salt. With that out of the way, we can talk about the highway encounter of the extremely different coupes.

The Ferrari 812 Superfast we have here had also been taken down the aftermarket path, albeit not to the same extent as its Blue Oval rival.

To be more precise, the Maranello machine packs the Mansory Stalone kit, with this adding carbon aero bits and pushing the naturally aspirated V12 motor 30 hp further, for a total of 830 ponies.

As for the Ford, this is a GT model belonging to the previous S197 generation. The 5.0-liter V8 of the live axle machine now works with a Whipple supercharger. These positive displacement blowers can take the output of the five-of into the four-digit arena, even though I'm not aware of this particular build's specs.

Then again, the one-two-three action in the piece of footage below needs no numbers: the two drivers go for the good old starting method mentioned here, while the Ford Mustang GT serves as the camera car. So yes, we're missing out on the spelndid atmoshperic voice of the Italian toy.

PS: Please don't use such shenangians as examples and make sure to head over to the drag strip when the right foot starts itching, okay?
