A basic love-of-cars principle tells us that one can never see too many Ferrari vs. Lamborghini races. And since we like to do things by the book, we've brought along such a piece, albeit one that keeps things short. This is the quickest trick in the game, namely a drag race and it involves the Ferrari 488 and the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
Sure, given the fact that the 488 GTB has to fight the pumped-up incarnation of the Huracan, this fight isn't exactly fair. Then again, if we compare the good old max horsepower numbers of the two (670 hp for the Maranello machine and 640 hp for the Raging Bull), things suddenly seem more balanced.

It's worth noting that the two duked it out on the street. Now, most battles of the kind involve rolling starts, since these are less of an issue for traffic and help the drivers move out of the area quicker.

Nevertheless, the aficionados behind the wheels of these Italian exotics decided to keep things on the extreme side and went for a standing start. This allowed the Sant'Agata Bolognese tool to make use of its all-paw asset, with the Lambo delivering an explosive takeoff.

Nevertheless, we won't go into further details here, as we don't want to risk spoiling the giggles delivered by the piece of footage documenting the straight-line fight.

As for the aural side of the battle, the Enzo machine obviously didn't stand a change against its rival, since the first is animated by a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V8, while the latter packs a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10.

And yes, we too are looking forward to the moment when the owners of the Ferrari 488 Pista start wielding their 720 hp weapons - keep in mind that, as of the past weekend, the special edition is also available in Spider trim.
