A 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti sold for $10,175,000 last year at the Monterey Auction. Sure, this particular Prancing Horse belonged to The King of Cool himself, but these rare breeds come in seven figures even if they have no celebrity background. That is why paying $7,000 for this beautifully crafted scale model seems a lot doable.
As we all know, the Ferrari 275 was the first Prancing Horse to be equipped with a transaxle, while the GTB/4 was sitting at the top of the line. The later was built by the same Scaglietti and featured new bodywork. It also was the first Ferrari to not be offered with wire wheels.

It may have had the same Colombo V12, but engineers at Maranello had substantially reworked the beast. It still came with tow valves per cylinder but now with a four-cam engine and six carburetors as standard. This time around, the valve angle was reduced three degrees for a more compact head. The transaxle was also redesigned, with a torque tube connecting the engine and transmission. This enhancement improved handling, noise and vibration.

The 275 GTB/4 could hit an impressive 165 mph (266 km/h) with its 300 horsepower engine, a type of performance that puts the classic Prancing Horse among the greatest GTs even today. However, the chances you actually get your hands on one are rare, if not zero. So we figured we may as well talk about something that won’t cost an arm and a leg to handle.

The aggressive Berlinetta body courtesy of Pininfarina is more than vivid in this yellow scale model. This stunning beauty is modeled precisely and accurately at 1:8 scale, and features opening doors, hood and trunk. Sure, paying $7,000 won’t come easy, but for those who dream of their perfect Ferrari collection, this piece1 probably shouldn’t miss.
