I spent the past few days interacting with a group of drifting enthusiasts. We all shared stories of the cars we had at home. And I discovered two guys had at least one Porsche in their garage. One of them is even getting a 993 Turbo S soon.
I hope I'll at least get to drive one of those soon. Until then, collecting Hot Wheels cars is the only way to go for me. I'm still genuinely happy with my RX-7 and driving cars my friends have, so don't get me wrong about that. We should all appreciate the things we have in our lives, as someone always has it worse. Anyway, you'll see plenty of Red Line Club-related debates these days. Some people have complained that Quality Control is slipping over at Mattel.

And I've seen some messed-up McLaren F1s recently. I'm sure anyone who files a complaint will at least get their money back. But they might still feel tempted to stay away from future RLC releases. They might manage to do so until something exciting comes back online and will lure them into the funnel.

JDM vehicles and supercars have a way of doing that to you. I know it's hard to match the iconic status of the F1, but other machines might come close. I'm a big Zonda fan, but I would never think of turning down a drive in the Huayra. In December of 2022, I dug and found that Mattel had only ever made three different Pagani castings. The Huayra came first over ten years ago.

The '17 Pagani Huayra Roadster followed suit back in 2017, and the Zonda R was the latest model, which showed up in 2022. If you're a fan of Horacio Pagani's work, you'll be happy to know that the line is expanding, with two more castings coming up this year. The Utopia will enter the Mainline series, but the diecast manufacturer saved what's best for the Red Line Club release.

The '21 Pagani Huayra R is easily one of the best RLC collectibles this year, and it's on this way this upcoming Tuesday, May 2, 2024. The sale goes live at 9 AM PT and will finish when the stock runs out. You know what that means. If you don't have an Overdrive Membership, you'll likely need a bit of luck to secure this amazing casting.

Once you look past the Spectraflame paint job and the 10-spoke Real Riders wheels, the removable rear clamshell is the main focus point here. At $30 apiece, this is more expensive than we're used to, and I've even seen some people complaining that they'd rather have the Tarmac Works model instead. To each their own, I guess. Prices for the latest RLC Pagani on eBay are going off the charts already, and someone's asking $250 for something he doesn't even own yet.
