The RV and motorcoach industry is a grand place, and often, such machine will leave their imprint upon your bank account. Well, in the search for the most "affordable" motorcoach around, I've arrived at Entegra Coach, a crew known for building mobile habitats that are simply on another level.
With 2024 just around the corner, RV manufacturers are hard at work cranking out next year's models, and at Entegra, the most affordable "Luxury Diesel" motorhome they offer is the Reatta. But don't be fooled; these habitats are rarely cheap, and even though this is Entegra's pocket-friendly option, it still comes in with a price tag of at least $434,850 (€399,435 at current exchange rates).

But, 'least expensive' means something entirely different whenever we look at an Entegra unit. For example, Spartan is still the brand supplying this unit's chassis, and if you don't know much about Spartan, all I need to say is that these components are used to craft nothing more than fire trucks. Throw on a 306 hp Cummins engine, and you're set to haul up to all 46,320 lbs (21,010 kg GCWR) of mobile home, depending on the floorplan.

Now, it may be rather difficult for me to walk you through every little feature that this new lineup has to offer, so to make things easier to understand, let's take a little five-minute break out of your day and picture yourself in possession of the Reatta.

See yourself grabbing a set of keys from your local dealership or even Entegra themselves, hop inside, and head home to load up this behemoth with everything you need to hit the road. If you're some superstar, all this is bound to be taken care of for you.

Once your mobile home is ready to go and your family buckles up, it's time to hit the road. Next stop? That X on your map, wherever that may be. As you drive along, countless safety and monitoring systems ensure you keep this beast tamed and in its lane. An independent air suspension is also part of the magic, so bumps should feel like nothing more than light and gentle sway.

A couple of hours or so later, you finally make it to your reserved spot in some RV park, or, if you're lucky enough, you're hanging out on the edge of some vineyard in Southern California. with your unit automatically leveled, and everyone stretching their bones, it's time to press a button or two and watch your Reatta explode into a fully-equipped compound.

I like to use the word compound to describe the Reatta simply because each floorplan includes multiple slide-outs, creating a large interior habitat where you and your family can even choose never to lock eyes. My personal favorite layout, and the one I'll be describing, is the 39BH.

Overall, this floorplan includes three slide-outs, completed from the same vacuum-bonded fiberglass with gel coat and R-8 insulation, ensuring a light, strong, and weather-reflecting shell. The underbelly is insulated, too, so there's no telling how far into the cold season you can venture with this one.

From the entry into the 38BH, nearly 80% of the starboard wall is set up on a slide-out. Here, we can find a modular dinette, a set of bunk beds, and part of the bedroom, in particular, the wardrobe, storage drawers, and entertainment center.

On the port wall, Entegra includes a tri-fold sofa, a beautifully crafted kitchen that's sure to make us feel right at home, and, toward the rear, the king-size bed. However, be sure to take note of the service bathroom placed between the bedroom and the galley. This feature is a must for the utmost privacy as it keeps guests out of the bedroom, unless they know the pin to your door, of course.

At the very rear of the Reatta, the manufacturer includes an en-suite bathroom for the owners of this rolling mansion. It spans the entire beam of the RV and includes everything you need. Best of all, the features are separate, so one person can shower while another gets ready for the day ahead.

With an idea of the sort of layout that Entegra places at our disposal, place yourself in the middle of the images you see in the gallery. Have a seat on the sofa and visualize your family running around, each preoccupied with whatever task they've been given.

You and your significant other may want to whip up a meal or two while the kids are fiddling with a four-person tent. Don't worry; they won't mind sleeping outside and under the stars or the shade of an awning sticking out of the Reatta's side. Join them sometime.

As all that's going on, you check the water and battery levels and ready the panels for another day of stocking up your batteries with the necessary juice to operate pumps, lights, and slide-outs, too. Dinner's ready.

I already mentioned that the interior is more than perfect for enjoying a late meal with the family, but another space where this timeless activity can be enjoyed is outside, under that awning I mentioned, and with a touch of music for ambiance in the background. Heck, if it's Sunday, a 43-inch TV is also integrated into the outdoor entertainment center. Enjoy your meal, the stars overhead, the laughter, and the memories you'll create.

Things will most likely continue like this for a few weeks or months out of the year, depending on if you own a landlocked home. But there's a bit more to the story than this.

One benefit of such a machine is its power, and this means the ability to tow along some extra weight. I'm talking about hitching up any type of trailer you want, maybe even another camper - anything up to 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg) - and really taking your travels to the next level. Why not bring along some quads, dirt bikes, or e-bikes?

I started this article stating that this is Entegra's most accessible unit, and while it'll still empty you of around $500K, the tradeoff is a lifestyle change.
