It’s hard to fathom the incredible lengths the technology we have today has reached. Whereas not even 10 years ago the first smartphone came out, today we’re so used to them that we can’t really picture living our lives without one.
The same goes for every field and it looks like shredders are going through a sort of golden age. The one we’re about to show you seems to be out of this world.

It’s coming from Germany and it’s called the Red Giant. Built by Hammel, this thing weighs 42 tons (in 950 DK guise) and has an engine that’s good for 710 HP. It will need all that power to crush through nothing else but engine blocks and transmissions.

That’s right, the video below shows the monster tearing through cast iron blocks like butter and it’s both impressive and mesmerizing. I personally found the whole thing breathtaking.

After watching it the first time, I started looking for more things getting shredded and discovered that there’s an entire niche out there that deals only with this kind of stuff. Shredding is quite popular.

And how could it not be when you get to watch things that you thought were indestructible getting chewed into little bits and pieces? I mean, if the engine (which is supposed to be the hardest nut to crack out of the whole car) gets spit out like a bad tooth from this monster, what about the rest of the car? Well, we found a video of an entire VW Beetle getting through this treatment and we posted it below. Be warned though: you might be emotionally affected by the footage!
