BMW R1200GS TripleBlack Revealed

We looked closely at the all-new BMW R1200GS TripleBlack, and it's definitely safe to say that this is the best-looking GS zie Germans have created. Of course, some might argue and say that the all-black livery is only much too common, but in BMW's case, this is a most welcome addition.

That is most likely because the R1200GS was never delivered in a strong black attire, BMW preferring several other color combinations that included white, red, silver, the funny yellow, and more recently, blue.

BMW's new machine packs a nifty combination of Agate Grey and black, with few silver accents. To be honest, the house of Munich could have done even better and served a true, all-black beast. That would have included black anodized head covers, the entire exhaust covered in black ceramic coating, black grab rails and radiator shrouds, and obviously, with black spokes.

The TripleBlack doesn't come with cast wheels

One of the interesting things about the R1200GS TripleBlack is the wheel choice. While the basic version of the big GS still comes with the cast rims that can't take too many potholes, the TripleBlack arrives with wire spoked wheels. And yes, they are the Adventure ones.

This is a hint that this new machine will slot between the base GS and the flagship Adventure model. To which one will it be closer price wise is still a guessing game though we'd guesstimate it will be only a tad more expensive than the base model.

BMW heeded the customers' wishes

It looks like the R1200GS TripleBlack came into being after BMW decided to respond to the wishes of many customers who wanted an all-black machine. Black Storm Metallic paint now adorns the central fuel tank cover, fuel tank side panels and front mudguard, complementing the black anodized for slider tubes.

The engine block and the swingarm are also black, whereas the frame is also silvery dark-grey. If you ask us, the shiny exhaust ruins the looks of the TripleBlack, but maybe it's just us.

The final styling touch arrives in the shape of a new black-grey seat with contrasting GS stitching on the passenger seat. The BMW R1200GS TripleBlack is definitely a looker, and it will sell like hot cakes. No word on the price tag, so far, but this info is expected soon.
