The bike is powered by a 1700cc liquid cooled V-Twin engine (hence the name), which develops 136 Nm of torque at 2,750 rpm, but it can well go into the 5,000 rpm range without major hitches. The unit is paired to a revised six-speed transmission with quieter shifting.
The novelty about the model is that it features the company's K-ACT ABS brake system, which works in combination with an Electronic Cruise Control. The model, built to be a contender for the American tourers, comes with swingarm with twin air-assisted shocks at the rear and hydraulic fork at the front.
To make the model more appealing for American customers, Kawasaki designed the bagger starting from the VN1700 Voyager, creating it to flow from the front to the rear for a a wide-and-low look. Thanks to its design, the bike maker says that the model might “root in Europe as well.”
