We know what you're thinking, but no. Regrettably, this top-down American supercar isn't an official Dodge / SRT product, but the love child of Prefix Performance Vehicles and a heavy-duty chain saw.
Baptized Medusa, this topless fifth-generation Viper (VX) Viper is only one of a very limited 10-vehicle production run. Prefix says that "your time to order will be short" and that the company "is able to offer you a wide variety of custom options." The least expensive conversion package retails at $35,000, while additional costs apply to all custom options.
So what comes as standard? Well, Prefix each vehicle will be fitted with a dash mounted limited edition badge, while the sides of the Prefix Medusa Viper will be adorned with smoked chrome "medusa" badging. Furthermore, the X-brace and coil covers will be finished in the same hue as the vehicle's exterior paint finish. And that's about everything. The drivetrain has been left untouched.
That means that you get the same 8,390 cc V10 mill with 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft on tap, coupled to a heavy-duty six-speed manual that sends drive to the rear wheels. We're not sure if the soft top Viper adds a little bit of weight over the coupe or if the 3.5-second naught to 60 mph time is affected by the conversion or if it's safe to hit over 200 mph in this thing, but nevertheless, this is a truly expensive ride if you take into consideration that the 2014 Dodge Viper SRT starts from a whopping $102,485.
