All front-engined go-fast machines make a statement through their hoods, but the SRT Viper truly has something special to tell us via its bonnet. First of all, we like this because the design is a bit of a riddle - the “supercar average” two-vent bonnet actually belongs to the GTS model, which comes with superior comfort features. The standard Viper offers a beautifully aggressive six-vent hood, such as the one above.
Regardless of the version you choose, the hood is built from carbon fiber. With the Viper’s low-volume production, you would probably expect this huge, movable carbon fiber element to require special attention. Well, that’s not true, you can easily close the Viper’s hood. As for popping it open, this brings us to the next reason for which we adore the thing.
