Dodge Redeyes Drag SRT Hellcats, Mopar Fans Should Cherish These Precious Moments

The Dodge Challenger bested the S650 seventh generation Ford Mustang with just 35 more cars sold during the third quarter of the year – these two glorious nameplates are sparring neck to neck in the battle for the best-selling muscle car of the year title. However, soon, the Blue Oval representative will fear no more competition.

First, because S650 sales will finally take flight, and everyone and their mother expects the new generation to accept the delivery crown from its first full model year. Secondly, because there will be no more Dodge Challenger (or Charger) to worry about – the 2023MY is the final one for the Hemi V8-powered models, as Stellantis has ordained a swift change to the EV lifestyle.

According to the rumor mill, the Hurricane inline-six-cylinder mill might take the place of the legendary V8 mill, but it is not for sure just yet. As for the Chevrolet Camaro, that one exits out the backdoor entirely after a lackluster performance from the sixth generation – even during Q3, the GM representative lagged far behind them. Plus, the company has already announced the nameplate's retirement, and we even heard whispers that production might get cut short – in November for the Convertible and early December for the Coupe instead of January 2024.

As such, whenever you see a V8-powered Camaro or a Dodge Charger plus Challenger, you should cherish the precious moments – as this is literally the end of the V8-powered muscle car era for those two. On this occasion, we have nothing to show for to 'Maro aficionados, unfortunately. But at least the Mopar enthusiasts will get an influx of roaring V8 and screaming supercharger sounds.

No, not the Las Vegas boulevard – but rather The Strip, a four-lane dragway at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Nevada. There, it seems there is an overabundance of Mopars going head-to-head in fierce battles. Or, at least, he edited this compilation video (embedded below) to make it seem like that's what is going on around there on a daily and nightly basis. Well, we shouldn't care too much about that.

We shouldn't even care too much about who wins and who loses – since all these brawls are between Dodge Challengers and Chargers (Hellcats, Scat Packs, Redeyes, etc.), it's still a win-win situation. Instead, what we should do is put the sounds and sights of V8-powered Mopars on repeat to make sure we remember them even a couple of decades from now when they will be only a distant, fading memory from the collective consciousness. Seriously, they're well worth our respect and pride if you want us to share our two cents on the matter!
