Sometimes, if someone is stubborn, that's a good thing – other times, it's not. In life, it's best to find balance and learn when to pick the battles you can actually win.
That's sound advice not just in general but also in particular when it comes to certain aspects of the automotive industry. For example, the enthusiasts who are deeply passionate about the quarter-mile dragstrip shenanigans happening across the nation know very well there's a current ICE-powered versus EV war going on. Luckily, it's a safe one as most people keep it confined within the prepped lanes of their local racetrack.

The videographer behind the Wheels Plus channel on YouTube is a big fan of MRP and The Strip, but he also loves Bandimere Speedway for its feisty ICE vs. EV brawls. By the way, MRP means Mission Raceway Park – aka Thunder by the River – a premiere NHRA-sanctioned location in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. Meanwhile, The Strip refers to the four-lane raceway at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, not the city's legendary boulevard.

But the author certainly has a sweet spot for Bandimere – also known as Thunder Mountain because of its high elevation at its location in Colorado. It opened back in 1958 and hosts the NHRA's Dodge/SRT Mile-High Nationals so everyone knows it's a spot where Mopars love to dwell in attendance even when there's no official competition. These blue Tesla owners probably knew that, and one of them chose to quarrel with an outstanding yellow and black-striped Dodge to try and show it who's an EV boss.

However, do keep in mind that although this Tesla sports a nice pair of aftermarket wheels, we are dealing here with a Model 3 – not a Plaid. Still, it's not facelifted, so it keeps the usual horsepower count, which should make it interesting against a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat because both are not affected by the unusually high elevation of the quarter-mile dragstrip's location.

Interestingly, this is another example of how these races can be 'close, but not close enough,' which is probably one of the main reasons the Tesla Model 3 driver kept trying in hopes that something would change with the way the Mopar racer acts. As such, during the four skirmishes, the EV kept eating the ICE-powered beast's dust over and over again. Alas, the Hellcat driver was undeterred and posted consistent ETs – all enough to marginally beat the EV contender.

If you want to see the results, the video embedded below will give you a great taste of the action. Also, suppose you think elevens are not that astonishing. In that case, the second feature listed under the text is of a couple of 2023 Corvette Z06s ducking it out – and you'll see it takes a lot of skill and talent to remain consistent throughout multiple runs.
