His fans probably already heard about the deal rap producer DJ Khaled recently closed with Heads Audio and Bang & Olufsen. The new headphone line called “We The Best Sound”already was subtly marketed in his latest video “They Don’t Love You No More.” But now the rapper posted a teaser of an real ad on his Instagram, wearing the new headphones while driving his black Maybach.
Producing music is not that fun anymore if you’re not doing the real business, designing electronics. And rappers seem like they’ve got really turned on about the idea especially after Dr. Dre’s deal with Apple, which turned the famous artist into the richest rapper in the industry.
You see, back in the day it was all about gangs, drugs and shooting people, but now all they talk about in their lyrics is how to get new business deals. Some go for the shoe lines, others for the jewelry, yet the latest trend is creating audio brands. Khaled’s allegedly premium headphone line will most likely compete with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine’s widely popular Beats By Dre line, so we’re eager to see how that’s going to work out for him.
Anyway, looking at the clip below, you’ll see the guy riding in the passenger seat of his Maybach, one of the cars he loves to brag with. Well, it’s kind of funny come to think about, considering the model is not present on the auto market anymore. The German-based ultra-luxury car brand owned by Daimler AG announced in November 2011 that Maybach will cease to be a brand by 2013.
The company made the last Maybach car in December 2012, and the reason of its cease is poor sales. Since the brand’s revival in 2002, only 3,000 cars were sold, and the company did not succeed in trying to make Maybach a profitable rival to Rolls Royce and Bentley.
