Older luxury yachts can sometimes be harder to sell when there are so many stunning new models available and flashing all the latest innovations. Still, they also offer undeniable advantages in terms of proven cruising abilities and a high-quality build.
Pipe Dream is an unusual name for a luxury yacht and it doesn't really do justice to this beautiful Westport's glamorous style and high-end amenities. There's nothing industrial or overly technical about this elegant pleasure craft designed to maximize lavish comfort on the water.

Pipe Dream was recently sold for an impressive sum ($17.4 was its last known asking price), and that's unusual for a few reasons. First of all, this Westport doesn't exactly fit into the unofficial superyacht standard in terms of size. At less than 40 meters (130 feet), Pipe Dream is considerably smaller than a superyacht. We've seen much bigger vessels and equally luxurious be sold for less.

Secondly, this pleasure craft is more than ten years old. Typically, this would lower the asking price considerably. Still, the previous owners were clever enough to not only keep it in excellent shape but also pump money into refits so that it entered the market at the highest standards. Following the 2020 and 2021 refits, Pipe Dream gained brand-new navigation systems and a refreshed galley layout while all of its mechanical systems and electronics were upgraded. Refits are one of the key factors involved in luxury yachts' longevity and continued market success.

One of the things that justifies this yacht's price tag is the impeccable layout. Despite its size, Pipe Dream boasts a generous 333 GT volume that enables it to accommodate a large party. The five-cabin layout is more than comfortable for ten guests. The master suite with an elegant office sits on the main deck, while all the other guest cabins are located on the lower deck.

Gorgeously styled, this American yacht comes with a generous hot tub on its surprisingly spacious flybridge deck and a classic main salon with mahogany interiors. The sundeck also reveals a gorgeous dining table for ten, made of glossy teak, while the elegant bar with a fireplace can double as a cozy cinema.

Pipe Dream also flaunts the Westport pedigree. Dating back to the 1960s, this US shipyard started small, with commercial fishing vessels aimed at the Pacific Northwest salmon industry, and gradually moved to ferries and eventually luxury yachts. Westport Yachts are some of the greatest built in America.

Last but not least, Pipe Dream is also a popular charter yacht, which is another factor behind its high market value. One week onboard costs at least $140,000, and, most likely, the new owner will continue to reap the benefits of sharing his luxury toy with charter customers.
