Dacia Sandero 1.2l 16V Goes to France

Sandero 1.2l 16V, built by Renault's Romanian subsidiary Dacia, has become available for the French crisis stricken buyer. The good news comes both in the shape of the base price for the model and the fuel consumption average.

If you are one of those people who's dreams of owning a Laguna or a C5 were shattered by the family's decision to cut back on expenses, Sandero comes as a compromise. No doubt, the 7,800 euro price tag on the car is appealing to everyone who needs a car just to move around. To make matters even better, the Sandero is subject to the 1,000 euro rebate scheme which operates in France when replacing a vehicle aged 10 years or more.

The 1.2l 16 valve engine Sandero will get you from point A to point B with an average 139mg/km of CO2 emissions and 5.9l/100 km fuel consumption rate, but that's about it. No stop light drag races, no impressing ladies, no turning heads...

The 75 horsepower engine is reliable and, thanks to its CO2 emissions rate, has qualified for the Dacia Eco Signature, a standard based on criteria developed for Renault. All versions are 95 percent recoverable by weight, while five percent of the plastic it contains is sourced from recycling.

Sandero comes in three trim versions, Sandero, Ambiance and Laureate. The most expensive of them, the Laureate, cost 9,300 euro while the Ambiance will take around 8,500 euros out of your account.

Worldwide, Dacia Renault models are gaining ground thanks to the economic crisis. The cars are affordable and manage to score high in both performance and comfort areas. Scrapage incentives put in place by European governments have also helped Dacia climb the ladder.
