“Low and Slow.” Those are the key features needed to be checked in order to make a good lowrider. Also, add some nice rims and fancy trimming and you should be good.
Started in the 1950s, the lowrider cult was created by Mexican-Americans in California. The early lowriders were using sand bags in their trunks to obtain the effect, later going from chopped suspension and Z-frames up to hydraulic suspension systems to alter the ride height at any time.
Known from the 78-88’s American Chevy Impalas, Buick Regal and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supremes, the lowrider cult is spreading well into modern rides as well.
Take this 1998 Lexus GS 300 in the adjacent video for example. Although not being slow, the luxury sedan surely is low now, thanks to its hydraulic suspension. The viper green color for the body looks absolutely stunning and enhances the sedan's lines, while making it very easy to spot on road. And check out those massive five-spoked chromed rims. Yep, definitely a lowrider!
