Ford E-Series models are very suitable for camper van conversions. You could start with a minimal conversion with a high-top roof and a basic interior, and then the sky's the limit regarding how much of a transformation you can make. Take this Ford Econoline camper as an example – it's been extensively modified inside out, becoming an awesome tiny home on wheels.
Meet Ally and Lance, the owners and converters of this 1995 Ford Econoline. The two aren't strangers to camper conversion – they started out with a skoolie, then continued with this camper van, and now they're working on building a truck camper.

The goal was to create a deluxe home on wheels with off-road capabilities. Ally and Lance poured countless hours into this project to reach it. And I'd say this one-of-a-kind result was worth it.

As usual, I will start with the exterior. This vehicle sports a 7.3-liter engine and rides on Pro Comp rims wrapped in 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss all-terrain tires. Furthermore, the couple installed a transmission/transfer case from a 1997 F-350 4x4, as well as a front axle from a 2010 F-350.

At the rear, you'll discover two storage boxes and a spare tire, each mounted on a swing-away carrier, as well as a 5,000-lb. (2,268-kg) winch. Above, you'll notice a 12,000-BTU mini-split. As Lance said, it's a bit overkill, but the duo can rest assured that they will have the ideal temperature inside regardless of the weather conditions.

At the front, Ally and Lance fitted a beefy Move front bumper complete with a 12,000-lb. (5,443 kg) winch. Moreover, both sides of the van have running boards and flares. Other notable exterior features are lights, two fuel canisters, and traction boards. The last part of the exterior I'd like to mention is the roof.

Not only does this rig have a huge fiberglass roof, but it's also equipped with a Dometic electric awning and a clever solar panel system. The latter feature comes with slides. In the normal setup, the van has 400 W of solar capacity, but that can be doubled to 800 W if you pull out the rest of the solar panels.

Pop the entry doors open, and you'll discover a beautifully designed interior with great attention to detail. For instance, one of the first things you'll see is the entry door's inner panels. Ally made them herself using hickory wood, and they look fantastic. The couple installed this type of panel for every door.

Regarding aesthetics, Ally and Lance opted for textured fake cement walls complemented by walnut touches, white cabinetry, and a slatted ceiling. And lastly, the look is complemented by super ambient lighting, which gives it a homey and cozy feel.

Another ingenious solution is also integrated right by the door. Since Ally and Lance travel with their big dogs, they devised a doggy gate that, when not pulled out, hides a propane canister and an outdoor shower.

One important modification the couple made to the interior was to drop the floor by about two inches (five centimeters). This allows Lance, who is 6'0" (183 centimeters) tall, to stand up straight inside the van.

Ally and Lance opted for an open layout for this camper, meaning the driver's cabin isn't separated from the living space. What's more, the space between the driver's and passenger's seats is taken up by a fridge/freezer box, which can be slid-out to double as a bench.

I love that the duo didn't keep the dull original grey color for the driver's cabin, and instead painted it tan. Another notable element in this space is the massive headliner cabinet above offering tons of storage space.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is split into two parts, one on each side of the interior. It features a deep sink, an oven/two-burner stove combo with a wood cover, a blender, and seemingly endless storage spaces in the cabinets and drawers.

Both sides of the kitchen have slide-screen windows above, which ensure proper air circulation when open and allow plenty of light to shine inside.

The couple's favorite part of the kitchen (and mine too) is a tiny car area in one of its corners. It consists of a holder for drinks and mixing instruments, highlighted by an LED strip above it. Also above is where you'll find a beer tap, which is disappointingly used for water. Still, it's a cool detail.

The rear part of the interior is where you'll find, like in most other camper vans, the living rom/bedroom. It consists of a sizeable U-shaped couch and a swivel table in the middle. Morover, many overhead cabinets follow the same shape of the couch. You'll also notice the mini-split unit above the rear doors, and a swivel-mounted 24-inch TV in one of the corners.

Of course, the couch can be transformed into a full-size bed by lowering the table and rearranging the cushions.

The utility systems are located on the sides of the living room/bedroom, inside the benches. The power system's highlights are 560 Ah lithium batteries, a 3,000 W inverter, a DC-DC charger that allows the batteries to charge from the vehicle's alternator, and a solar charge controller connected to the 800 W solar panels on the roof.

Regarding plumbing, this van boasts a 36-gallon (136-liter) freshwater tank. Oh, I forgot to mention earlier that one massive drawer in the kitchen hides a Nature's Head composting toilet.

And finally, we have the garage, which has a unique setup. It comprises six massive drawers mounted on 500-lb. (227-kg) slides. By the way, the bed frame is made from metal, so it can support the weight of these drawers.

As I mentioned in the title, this tiny home on wheels is now for sale. To be frank, it's one of the best Econoline conversions I've seen. It's got serious off-road and off-grid capabilities, looks stunning inside out, and has a ton of storage space.

Basically, this rig is ready for adventures as soon as the next owner gets their hadns on it. Ally and Lance have explained there's a single issue witht he van – it starts but misfires, so that problem needs to be addressed.

You'll have to dish out $79,000 (€72,642) to get your hands on this excellent mobile home. Given its looks and specs, I'd say it's a relatively fair price. You can find out more about this rig on its Facebook Marketplace listing. It's currently in Las Vegas if you want to check it out in person.
