A Chevrolet Corvette was torn to pieces following an impact with a pole early morning. The driver survived the impact and was transported to a nearby hospital. Preliminary data shows that the sports car was illegally street-racing a Ford Mustang.
You can barely figure out that was once a car if it wasn't for the engine and wheels spread across the lawn of a building in Marion County, Florida. It is a miracle that nobody else but the driver sustained injuries in the impact.

At 8:24 am on Saturday morning, MCFR units were dispatched to the intersection of State Highway 200 and SW 80th Street after multiple 911 callers reported an accident. A white Chevrolet Corvette went off the road, smashed into a light pole, and was torn to pieces.

Friendship Fire Station #21 arrived at the scene five minutes later. The driver of the Corvette, who was the only one on board the car, was declared a Trauma Alert and was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

The crash forced a detour of the traffic on Highway 200. The power lines were hanging low, and the road was covered in wreckage and debris following the crash. Firefighters secured the scene until the Florida Highway Patrol arrived.

Preliminary data shows that the Corvette was street-racing a silver Ford Mustang before it crashed. Witnesses told the local media that the Mustang cut off the Corvette, sending it into another car, a Toyota Prius, before hitting a tree on the side of the road and a light pole.

Now, the Corvette looks like it must have blown up in the process, but it did not. No explosion and no fire were reported. The photos uploaded by the Marion County Fire Rescue show the car broken into pieces.

The engine of the car, the transmission, and the two axles with the multi-spoke black alloy wheels are spread all over the lawn of a building in Marion County, Florida. The seats in red leather can also be identified somewhere there, while the vented hood of the sports car sits on the grass as well.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. The police are trying to find the driver of the silver 2020-2023 Ford Mustang with tinted windows. Witnesses describe him as a white male, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing between 225 pounds and 250 pounds.

He was wearing a black cap at the moment of the crash, is believed to be bold, and had a beard. "He has two tattoos on his right forearm," police revealed in their attempt to find him. Furthermore, the police released photos with him before fleeing the crash scene and ask everyone who has any information on him to call the FHP Communication Center or the Crime Stoppers in their area.
