Consumer Reports Doesn’t Like Cadillac CUE

We’ve all seen the sci-fi movies in which everything is controlled using hand gestures. We’re actually getting there, as tablets and smartphones are now more advanced than what we could have imagined a decade ago.
But given the choice, we’d still pick the BMW 3-Series or Mercedes C-Class over the Starship Enterprise. But the American luxury automobiles that are being heralded as the answer to the 3-Series and C-Class do believe in sci-fi technology.

Instead of copying iDrive, Cadillac offers the brand new CUE in the Cadillac ATS and XTS, both 2013 models fresh off the factory floor. The system uses a touchscreen instead of just about every button. There isn’t even a volume knob for the stereo, and the problem is you miss a lot and it’s hard to control the systems while you’re driving.

Consumer Reports says the system is not intuitive. Simple things like changing the radio station become complicated procedures. The world of the day is “fussy”!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
