Consumer Reports: 2014 Kia Forte More Spacious Than a Focus

Last year's LA Auto Show welcomed the arrival of the all-new 2014 Kia Forte compact sedan. The model is an international model, built in Korea as the K3 and sold in Australia as the Cerato.
Peter Schreyer's Tiger Nose design has been toned down a bit to create a car that's more mainstream and cheaper to build. But the redesigned Forte is seriously good looking when you compare it to the old car.

It's also lower wider, and longer in stance than the car that came before it. The Forte is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Elantra. It's also offered with the same 1.8-liter unit producing 148 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 131 lb-ft of torque at 4,700 rpm. The more upmarket EX models also come with a 2-liter GDI that offers 173-horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 154 lb-ft.

Consumer Reports are among the first to take a spin in the 2014 Kia Forte. Kia has apparently fixed the stiff suspension of the older model. And though the interior is simple in design, you can have the latest generation UVO infotainment system and the cool navy. What's more, CR says the Forte is roomier in the back than a Ford Focus or a Chevy Cruze sedan. Downgrading to a Kia really isn't as bad as it used to be!
