Chrysler will resume production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and recall the 500 workers that were laid off earlier this week. However, vehicle shipments to dealerships will be delayed and the Cherokee’s on-sale date, scheduled for September 30, moved at a later date.
Four days ago, Chrysler Group has announced that the second shift of workers hired to build the 2014 Jeep Cherokee at its Toledo plant have been temporarily laid off because the first batch of crossovers have yet to be delivered to Jeep dealers, due to a software glitch. 9,430 Jeep Cherokees have been assembled by the end of August.

Production of the brand new 2014 Jeep Cherokee began in late June and the first vehicles should have been delivered to nationwide dealerships in mid-August. The vehicles are expected to be shipped sometime in October.
