In order to fulfill Sergio Marchionne’s vision of pushing the Chrysler brand further upmarket, the group has made a decision to stop production of the Town and Country MPV, and replace it with a more trendy small crossover.
The move will take place in 2014, and will leave the Dodge Grand Caravan with the sector all to itself. Also, the crossover which is set to replace it will most likely take many styling cues from the Chrysler 700C concept, yet could keep the Town and Country name.
However, the group will be even busier in the 2014-2015 period, as they will also be launching a refreshed 300, as well as a redesigned 200, the latter of which will undoubtedly be underpinned by Fiat’s CUSW platform, which currently underpins the Dodge Dart and Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
To finish it off, Chrysler will also be adding a compact hatchback model, which is very likely to be called the ‘100’. Perhaps this spells good times ahead for the group?
