Chris Brown was named Developer Co-Creation Officer for Faraday, the tech company that builds electric cars. He is there to convince customers to buy the company’s models. So far, even though they unveiled several concepts, only the Future FF 91 entered production.
Access the Faraday Future website, and the first thing you see is Chris Brown. Not your favorite option when you are looking for a car, right? The controversial artist has a position with a designation that might apparently be missing a coma. The new Developer, (Coma) Co-Creation Officer will also buy an FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance as part of the deal.
The same position was offered and accepted by Le Mans Justin Bell. But it is unclear if Bell is still with Faraday or if Chris Brown comes to replace Bell or give him a helping hand.
The press release that the startup came up to announce the collaboration with Brown is widely confusing. They claim that the co-creation process has already started at Chris Borwn’s Los Angeles home, where he hosted FF Founder and Chief Product and User Ecosystem Officer YT Jia. We also get to see a photo as proof of the meeting, with the two of them and the car in the background.
Chris Brown has been in a multi-year attempt to rehabilitate his reputation after pleading guilty to felony assault charge on singer Rihanna, altercations with rapper Drake’s entourage, punching R&B star Frank Ocean over a studio parking space, and punching a fan in October 2013. That is why the Faraday Future publicity stunt might be his way out of the predicament he has been stuck in for over a decade.

Founded back in 2014, Faraday Future has been unveiling concepts for the past few years. But the only one that entered production is the FF 91 2.0. Those who allow Chris Brown to convince them that Faraday Future’s EV is a good idea, can place a preorder via the FF Intelligent App or through the company’s website. But you might not exactly like what they have to offer.
The FF 91 2.0 Futurist starts at $249,000. For the money, customers get a 1,050-horsepower car that runs from 0 to 60 mph (0-97 kph) in 2.27 seconds and hits a top speed of 155 mph. A 142-kWh battery stores enough energy for a drive of up to 381 miles before the car needs to be plugged in again.
The top-of-the-line version is the FF 91.20 Futurist Alliance. It is just as fast, just as potent, and just as capable in terms of range, but have more generous standard equipment and starts at $309,000.
FF also offers $1,000 charging credit on participating public charging networks. The credit is valid for three years starting at the moment of the purchase.
