Chevrolet has introduced two new pickup truck concepts at the Texas State Fair earlier this week. Called Black Ops and Volunteer Firefighter, both vehicles are based on the 2014 Silverado and "dedicated to volunteer first responders and ultimate survival".
The Black Ops concept uses the Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 as a base truck and features custom-built lower body armor, a lockable bed-mounted Truck Vault storage unit, a solar power pack, a pair of gas masks, a military first aid kit, folding shovel and rope.

Moving on to the Volunteer Firefighter concept, the vehicle was created with input from the National Volunteer Fire Council and packed with firefighter tools, bespoke 22-inch wheels and a heavy-duty Z71 off road suspension.

Both trucks are powered by GM's 5.3-liter V8 engine (355 HP / 383 lb-ft of torque) and will be showcased at the 2013 SEMA Show in November.
