General Motors has taken the wraps off its brand new Heavy Duty lineup at the 2013 Texas State Fair, which includes the Chevrolet Silverado HD and the GMC Sierra HD (Denali included), both set to arrive in US dealerships next year as 2015 models.
We’ve already introduced you to the Silverado HD, but we decided to come back and put the 2015 GMC Sierra heavy duty in the spotlight. Just like its twin Chevy-badged brother, the new Sierra HD has adopted regular half-ton Sierra’s design, while receive minor exterior changes for cosmetic and aerodynamic purposes.

Things are pretty much the same under the hood, with a base 6.0-liter V8 (360 HP), a more powerful 6.6-liter turbodiesel (397 HP), and a bi-fuel version of the 6.0-liter, which enables the engine to run on either compressed natural gas (CNG) or gasoline. According to GM, the 2015 GMC Sierra HD can haul 7,374 pounds of payload, 19,600 pounds on a conventional hitch, and 23,200 pounds on a fifth-wheel hitch, which are slight improvements compared to the previous iteration.

Moving on to the Sierra Denali HD, the model can be distinguished thanks to its signature chrome grille, exclusive interior trims, polished stainless steel exhaust on gas models and body-colored bumpers. The truck also sports an exclusive eight-inch driver display, standard projector-style headlamps, daytime running lights, a Bose audio system, heated and cooled leather front bucket seats and heated steering wheel.

"Sierra HD trucks are engineered without compromise to deliver not only the capability today's heavy-duty truck customers demand, but the quality and refinement that inspire confidence with every task," said Tony DiSalle, vice president of GMC Marketing. "We've been doing this for more than a century, and nobody knows trucks like GMC."
