Despite being unveiled with an automatic transmission earlier this month, the brand new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will get a manual gearbox as well, GM North America president Mark Reuss confirmed last week.
However, the manual transmission won’t become available across the entire Colorado lineup, but only on the base extended-cab, two-wheel-drive WT model, Automotive News reports.

“I’m making a bet on this. If you look at the past data, it’s probably not a financially sound decision. But we’re creating something here that hasn’t been created before. So we’re going to take some risks,” Reuss said at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, while also confirming that the 2015 Colorado will get an off-road model.

The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will go on sale in the third quarter of 2014. The new truck marks GM's return to the compact pickup truck segment, one that has only two main contenders in the United States - Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Frontier.
