Have you ever seen a G-body car with meaty overfenders? Well, now you have, as this rendering takes the second series of the GM platform into widebody territory, with a Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS being used as a vessel.
Before we zoom in on the details of this visual adventure, we have to mention that Yasid Oozeear, the experienced digital artist behind the stunt, explains this is a mere experiment rather than one of his "usual" renderings.

"Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Always had a thing for this one. Quick wider fender extensions today to see how it'd look and it's safe to say... I'll pass, haha. It just needs something else here, especially because the line of this car from front to back is rather straight, which adds to its exceptional beauty. However, what I did here is breaking it down," the pixel wielder explains in the Instagram post below.

Of course, one might wonder why the digital artist selected this Chevy in the first place (note that we're dealing with the Monte Carlo SS introduced in 1983, with the special front fascia making it easy to recognize).

The answer has to do with the fact that, whether we're talking about physical builds or those that come in pixel form, enthusiasts need to look further and further away from the models everybody uses as a starting point.

In fact, those of you who are seeking a real-world example that involves a G-body need to look no further than the Project Hellnational, a Hellcat-swapped Buick Grand National we discussed last year.

Looking past the meaty, angular overfenders, the stance of the machine has been touched by dropping the vehicle on a set of wheels provided by Japanese specialist Watanabe; this was the main aspect that determined us to introduce the nickname in the title.

Then there's the cowl hood, safety pins and all, which speaks of the V8 fury lurking underneath, which should have the power to silence critics until the artist finds a new way to add some width to the machine.
