What do the Mk V Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and X-Force have in common? Much to no adult's surprise, neither the track-hugging muscle car, nor the modern-day superhero team are all-new developments - while the Chevy is a tribute to the Z/28 of 1967, said warriors trace their roots back to the New Mutants team of the 1980s.
Oh, and there's one more thing the two have in common, namely the fact that the owner of this Gen V Z/28 decided to gift his machine with a full X-Force wrap.
The result is as awesome as they get, which is why I've decided to share the V8 beast with you.
Note that the pixel work behind this slice of America comes from Scott Kepple. We're talking about a digital artist that helps push the second skin genre forward through his innovative work. The aficionado has a thing for Porsche, but you should know this Camaro isn't his first muscle (for instance, here's a Dodge Challenger Hellcat he gifted with a ready-rusty wrap).
Since we're talking about the Camaro Z/28, I'll remind you this prefigured the unbelievable sixth-gen Camaro ZL1 1LE, a machine that can blitz the Nurburgring in 7:16. Both toys were able to one-up spicy Porsche 911 derivatives of their time, for instance.
And while the ZL1 1LE relies on a supercharger, the Z/28 is all-motor. Its engine compartment is occupied by a 7.0-liter V8, which delivers 505 ponies and works with a six-speed manual for maximum driver engagement.
Since we're talking about the Camaro, here's to hoping the reports about its demise after the 2023 model year aren't true. You see, General Motors has neither confirmed, nor declie this kind of forum chat.
Then again, given the terrible design of the latest Camaro SS, it feels like the automotive producer wants the Camaro to have poor sales...
