Chevrolet has unveiled the Adra concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in India today, previewing what might become a competitor for the Ford EcoSport.
Based on General Motors’ global small-vehicle Gamma platform, the compact crossover was developed by Indian designers at GM’s technical center in Bangalore. GM has yet to confirm whether the Adra will make it to production, but the company is expected to put it on a production line as a rival for the Ford EcoSport.
The manufacturer hasn’t revealed any specs, but word has it the production version of the Adra will be powered by the same 77 hp 1.3-liter engine used by the Chevrolet Sail and Enjoy.
“Many of the products on display were engineered locally to meet the unique needs and preferences of the domestic market. They represent our commitment to continue growing our presence in India,’’ Stefan Jacoby, executive vice president and president, GM International Operations, said at the Delhi Auto Expo.
