Off-road vehicles are pretty popular in the world of tuning for reasons that are too obvious to talk about. But the problem with this popularity is that few mod jobs strike all the right chords.
The Black Hawk from the Chelsea Truck Company is one of those very few fruitful tuning jobs. With those hood slats and those badass seats, it looks like it came out of a Captain America comic book, doesn’t it?

The truth of the matter is, the Jeep Wrangler-based vehicle featured in the adjacent pics has plenty of presence both on and off the beaten track. It also happens to be sumptuous inside. Like really sumptuous.

Priced from £49,995 for the two-door and from £52,995 for the four-door model, the Chelsea Truck Company Black Hawk is equipped with a utilitarian yet extremely fashionable wide body kit. And yes, the wide wheel arches are inspired by the way-out Kahn Flying Huntsman.

Up front, you’ll notice that the trademark Jeep grille made way for a four-slot grille which is flanked by two Shadow Chrome headlights. The rear end, however, is virtually untouched by the peeps at the Chelsea Truck Company.

For more proficiency in off-road situations, the British tuning outfit affiliated with Kahn Design can fit this baby with 7.5x17-inch alloy wheels and big fat Cooper Discoverer tires. And yes, this setup can handle two-tracking.

Once you open the door, the Black Hawk invites you to have a seat on soft quilted and perforated honeycomb leather seats. The lavish leather is also present on the glove box door and armrests. What about get-up-and-go?

Not much, frankly, but the same engines you get in the JK Wrangler: 2.8-liter diesel or 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. The entry-level oil-chugging engine can move the Chelsea Truck Company Black Hawk to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 10.6 seconds, on to a maximum velocity of 107 mph (172 km/h).
