Tesla Model S Gets the Aftermarket Touch From Voltes Design

Compared to cars motivated by an internal combustion engine, pure electrics such as the Tesla Model S have limited aftermarket prospects. Despite the arduous challenge of making a cool EV even cooler, a startup from the UK deserves our attention.

Self entitled as “the first company in the UK and Europe to offer a range of styling parts and other accessories tailored exclusively for the Tesla range of vehicles,” Voltes Design partnered up with Larte Design and came up with the Voltes Gen-SS exterior styling pack.

The Gen-SS package includes end-to-end visual enhancements. The supercar-like front bumper, for example, can be had either in plastic composite material or basalt fiber. The latter is a relatively new material in the automotive world and, as per Voltes Design, it boasts “very similar properties to carbon fiber, being extremely strong while impressively lightweight.”

Also up front, Voltes Design decks out the Tesla Model S with so-called Lightning Trim in carbon fiber. Looked at from the profile, the Voltes Gen-SS pack enhances the full-size luxury EV with wing styling blades made from carbon fiber, as well as carbon fiber sill trim that accentuates the car's width.

As for the rear end transformation, the Voltes Gen-SS package adds a carbon fiber boot lid spoiler, boot lid trim, Larte design rear bumper, rear diffuser, and a F1-inspired rear LED light mounted low down in the center of the bumper.

Of course, there're lots of optional extras on the menu, including alloy wheels from Avantgarde, BBS, ACE, and Rohana, as well as lots of carbon fiber trim for the interior. Beyond the Tesla Model S, the British tuning outfit is now working on a styling package for the Model X pure electric crossover.

According to Voltes Design, the Brits also promise some upgrades for the Tesla Model 3 once the most attainable Tesla Motors nameplate starts to roll off the assembly line. In the meantime, prospective customers can get in touch with Voltes Design through the tuning company’s website.
