After retiring from professional riding back in 2011, the former champion Lorin Capirossi has been appointed as safety advisor for the MotoGP series. Test-riding the MotoGP bikes prior to the season start is one of his duties and he has sampled the YZR-M1 machine prepared for Valentino Rossi's next world series.
Having won countless races riding pretty much all the manufacturers' machines in his career, Capirossi declares that he believes Rossi can indeed be again in the elite of the MotoGP next year. Italian Gazzetta dello Sport also writes that Capirossi realized how competitive the new Yamaha was during his tests in Valencia and it's to be expected that Rossi regains his enthusiasm riding it.

Rossi has ended his relation with Ducati after two frustrating years filled with disappointing results. The last race Ducati won was in Malaysia, back in 2009, with Casey Stoner in a clearly dominant position.

With around three months before the 2013 MotoGP kicks off in Qatar, there is still time to find out more on Rossi and his new (old) team.
