BMW has issued a recall for 2,385 S1000RR bikes. The issues description BMW has sent to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) claims that a manufacturing fault might cause the bolts of the kickstand mounting plate to come off.
While there is no mentioning of such event occurring, it's quite obvious that such a scenario poses a very serious threat for both riders of said motorcycles and those riding with them. The affected BMW bikes have been manufactured between September 2011 through December 2012, and BMW will notify the owners, with the recall starting in January 2013.

Authorized dealers will clean the side-stand and replace the mounting plate bolts, free of charge. So if your S1000RR is in the specified series, you;d better postpone the track days until BMW has your kickstand safely secured in place again.
