Here's a truly nifty piece of news form Schuberth, just before 2012 ends: the all-new SR1 sportbike helmet, made for recently-retired Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher. Developed with help from the German racer, the Schuberth SR1 promises top-notch performance in a variety of situations, from track days to touring the twisties.
For starters we absolutely loved the SR1 and learning it only weighs in at 1350 grams (2.98 lbs) made it an instant hit. The Schuberth SR1 will be available in two shell sizes, so the weight is a +/- 50 grams. Color-wise, the Schumacher lid will be offered in two graphics and three solid colors (white, gloss black and matte black).

The full-face design is of course, DOT- and ECE-approved and promises low noise and exceptional venting. It looks like the Schuberth SR1 Michael Sschumacher-developed helmet is already in authorized stores and has a MSPR of $899 (€682). We can only hope they're open between Xmas and New years Eve...
