The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R race car made its first public appearance at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion last weekend. Hidden under a standard camouflage, the development prototype was driven by Tommy Milner (GM and Corvette Racing driver) on the Laguna Seca track to reveal some of its aerodynamic features.
Little is know about the track-prepped vehicle, but the photo released by Chevrolet reveals a vehicle with a massive rear spoiler, revised front lip spoiler and side skirts, and the familiar side exhaust. The engine fitted under the hood is still a mystery, but the C7.R is likely to be motivated by an upgraded version of the C6.R’s 5.5-liter V8.

Chevy says an announcement about the 2014 Corvette C7.R is imminent, so make sure you stick around for preliminary details, photos and videos of the 2014 ALMS contender.
