Just like we told you late last week, based on a couple of Corvette7 forum-published PDF’s, the 2014 Stingray boasts 455 hp (339 kW) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque, which places it 25 hp and 36 lb-ft of torque above the sixth-generation version. However, the new Vette can be even more powerful if fitted with the company’s performance exhaust system, which takes power figures up to 460 hp (343 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque at 4,600 rpm.

"The 2014 Corvette Stingray's LT1 engine is a triumph of advanced technology, delivering more power and torque than ever before with greater efficiency," said Jordan Lee, Small Block chief engineer. "The LT1's performance complements the Corvette's low mass with a tremendous feeling of power that builds as the rpm climbs. Drivers will experience more power and acceleration than ever before with the standard engine – in fact, its power and torque surpass many uplevel engines offered by competitors."

The all-new LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine is expected to push the 2014 Corvette Stingray from 0 to 62 mph (96 km/h) in less than four seconds. Official fuel economy numbers have yet to be revealed, but Chevrolet expects the new Corvette to exceed 26 miles per gallon on the highway.

Deliveries of the 2014 Corvette Stingray will commence by the end of the summer.
