Luxury car manufacturer Cadillac is showcasing the Bose Centerpoint surround sound system fitted - as a standard feature - in the brand new 2015 Escalade SUV, which is scheduled to go on sale in the United States this spring and in Europe by the end of the year.
According to a spec sheet released by the automaker, the Escalade’s new sound system features sixteen high-performance speakers, with sizes ranging from 1 inch (25mm) to 5.25 inches (130mm), a Bose digital amplifier and an AudioPilot system microphone.
The smaller speakers can be found in each corner of the cabin (instrument panel, front and rear doors, D-pillars, center console), while the digital amplifier is mounted below the cargo area. The latter includes SurroundStage signal processing circuitry, noise compensation technology, Advanced Staging technology and 11 channels of equalization and digital signal processing.
“Bose’s expertise is in perfect alignment with Cadillac’s progressive integration of advanced technology,” said Cadillac chief marketing officer Uwe Ellinghaus. “With the standard all-new Bose audio system in the Escalade, we continue to elevate the level of luxury offered to our customers.”
As a brief reminder, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade is powered by GM’s 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The SUV will become available in three different trim levels and will start from $71,695 in the United States.
The vehicle is scheduled to make its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week and will hit dealerships across the Old Continent by the end of the year. European pricing details have yet to be announced.
