As the New York Auto Show is closing in on us, with GM set to unveil five new models, Cadillac just tuned in to confirm that the 2014 CTS will be gifted with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
The new LF3 unit, which boasts no less than 420 HP and 430 lb-ft of torque, will be connected to a new eight-speed automatic transmission for better fuel-efficiency reportedly rated at 17 mpg in the city and 25 mph on the highway.

Moreover, Cadillac is bragging that its new engine is the most powerfull V6 ever built by GM, also saying that it has greater power density that BMW's turbocharged 3.0-liter in-line six and TwinPower 4.4-liter V8 engines. That's an interesting fact, but we recomend it with a grain of salt until further notice...

"The new Cadillac Twin-Turbo brings a new dimension of technologically advanced performance to the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS sedan," said David Leone, executive chief engineer. "Delivering power and sophistication, it marks another large step forward in the product-driven expansion of Cadillac."

Besided the new supposedly BMW-frightening twin-turbo V6, the CTS Cadillac will be sold with two more engines: a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
