The Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 was a beast from the moment it drove through the factory gate. But someone thought it wasn't enough. So, a few mods later, the sports car comes with 900 horsepower.
This C7 Chevy Corvette Z06 hits the streets of Texas, running all that power. When it rolled off the assembly line back in 2016, the model was powered by its stock 6.2-liter (376 cubic inch) supercharged V8 engine. That power plant delivered 650 horsepower (659 metric horsepower) and 650 pound-feet (881 Newton meters) of torque.

The C7 Z06 could flash from 0 to hero in 3.2 seconds and run the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds at 132 mph (212 kph). The needle of the speedometer could go all the way to 196 mph (315 kph).

But those figures are so yesterday! And that's because Late Model Racecraft (LMR) interfered with the V8 of the C7 Corvette and came up with an upgrade package. It includes a cold-air intake, a larger throttle body, and a Kong Performance ported factory LT4 blower.

There is also an LMR cam kit, a P3 gauge to monitor ethanol percentage, headers, and exhaust, plus the upgraded fuel system that now sports a flex fuel sensor and bigger fuel pump and injectors. When they assembled everything back, with the new additions included, like a puzzle, the car had a totally different personality.

This low-mileage car, which is "a weekend toy for the owner," who drives it around Houston, Texas, now runs on either 93-octane fuel or E85 and keeps good road manners, the tuning house's co-founder and owner Steve Fereday claims. But the new performance figures of the car remain undisclosed for the moment.

The Texas-based tuner claims that, once the winter is over and the decent temperatures are long gone, the 'Vette will need an upgrade of the cooling system as well. And that might as well bring some extra power.

The owner of the Chevy, Christian Brown, initially brought in the Corvette for some minor upgrades and ended up with a space rocket. He wanted a better soundtrack and a performance upgrade. Little did he know that, six months later, he would bring it in again and eventually take his car home with 900 horsepower.

To withstand all the extra oomph and get enough grip, LMR ditched the stock tires for the Toyo R888R rubber.

Steven says the modification is not over yet, and, as he knows the owner, the 900 horsepower might just be the beginning of it. The Late Model Racecraft team is specialized in taking Corvettes well above the 1,000 horsepower milestone.

Steven goes test-driving the Chevy Corvette before handing it back to its owner to make sure that everything goes according to plan. The sound of the V8 is glorious.
