After the final stocks clear out of the inventory, at GM's behest, Chevrolet will be left without the iconic Camaro pony and muscle car in the lineup. From then on, the sports car ethos will be exclusively carried by the C8 Corvette.
Sure, some will say that's more than enough because we are dealing here with 'America's sports car.' The C8 generation has been around for almost half a decade already, and the Z06 joined the initial 495-hp Stingray with 670 horsepower along with an all-new first-ever 655-hp electrified all-wheel drive E-Ray.

More options are still coming – the rumor mill says that General Motors has already produced the first EX VIN Corvette ZR1 at Bowling Green Assembly. At the same time, an even more powerful Zora variant is awaited with enough oomph to challenge the likes of Ferrari's SF90 Stradale and Lambo's Revuelto PHEV supercars. Cool, right?

But what about the folks who loved Corvette's front-engine RWD setup more than anything else? Well, if there are fans of the C5 generation (1997 through 2004 model years), now there's a fresh opportunity to safeguard the CGI blueprints for a restomod design project. More precisely, the virtual artist tucked behind the Carmstyledesign moniker on social media drops the Shelby and Ford shenanigans for another CGI piece of muscly GM action.

So, after he played with stuff like a Mustang GT1500 or a Chevy Camaro ZL1 that morphed into a rugged 4x4 Coupe Utility adept at going over the hills and far away in fantasy land, now he's giving us a sweet interpretation of the C5 Chevy Corvette, or two. In fact, this is a dual-tone wonder showcased in either blue and black or bronze-orange and black attire.

However, the brilliant paintjobs aren't the most striking features – those are the widebody kit, the reworked front and rear fascia, the massive hood gills, the all-new head and taillights, or the beautiful turbine-style aftermarket wheels with a concave attitude and color-matched design. Too bad it's wishful thinking, right? Another question – do you think a well-equipped aftermarket customizer could use the CGI blueprints and morph a C5 Corvette into something like this? After all, there is a market for stunning Corvette transformations out there.

Most recently, we have seen one such case in the real world – Rezvani stole the presidential limo's name, and its new Beast was unleashed with 1,000 horsepower and the innards of the C8 Corvette. The very first Rezvani was also a Beast, though, at its core, it was an Ariel Atom – now the American company uses an American-built base for the custom supercar. The 6.2-liter V8 remains there, albeit with a pair of turbochargers at hand, while the body is now full carbon fiber to make it look different than a Corvette and also lighter, thus sprinting to 60 mph (96 kph) in 2.5 seconds. Cool, right?
