For all of you who live in the US and had a smile on your face when Opel introduced the GTC at the Frankfurt Auto Show last week, here’s some more fuel for an earlier rumor: the Opel GTC will probably make it onto the American market as a Buick.
The executive in charge of Opel, Karl-Friedrich Stracke, recently told the media that the car has great chances of being included in the American brand’s line-up. "I could easily see it as a Buick," he said during a meeting that took place in Frankfurt.
In addition to that, the United Auto Workers (UAW) have recently negotiated a contract with Opel and Buick parent General Motors which opens the gates for this development, as union officials said that this includes the building of a unmentioned compact car, a move that will generate over 500 jobs.
