About a week ago GM president Mark Reuss revealed that Buick could introduce a flagship model described as "a much more beautiful Porsche Panamera". The representative declined other details and didn't say when that might happen.
This wasn't the first time when GM execs dropped hints that Buick might get something bigger that the LaCrosse, but a recent interview with CEO Dan Akerson informs that the Detroit-based manufacturer is not exactly sure whether the Trishield brand needs a flagship model or not.
"Buick has to have a unique position between Chevrolet and Cadillac for a lot of reasons. I hate to call it 'tweeener', but it's a 'tweener' brand, and you have to know where Buick starts and ends. Probably (need a flagship), but I'm not sure yet," Akerson told Automotive News.
The LaCrosse mid-size is Buick's largest sedan. The vehicle was introduced in 2004, while the second generation was launched in 2009. The 2014 model starts at $33,135, but the 2013 iteration is still available from $31,660.
