We have to admit that, on certain supercar-overloaded occasions, we might end up seeing double at the end of the day. However, this isn't one of those cases, as the piece of footage below actually shows a pair of Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sports duking it out in a straight line.
The two, which stand for the 1,000 hp topless incarnation of the retired VW Group crown jewel, got together at a go-fast event that was recently held in Germany. So what do you do when such an episode takes place? You drag race the octane behemoths, of course.
The open-top Bugs decided to engage in a 1/4-mile shenanigan, with an airfield runway serving as their battlefield.
The White Veyron is owned by Team Dutchbugs - you know, the guy who took a Veyron offroading, drag raced it against a tuned BMW M5 and pulled other stunts that risked putting a dent in the hypercar's reputation. Then again, with a Chiron reportedly on order, the man doesn't have too many reasons to show such concerns.
And while we don't know who the driver of the other Grand Sport is, the Blue, almost leopard-like wrap on the car is the one that grabs the attention here.
Nevertheless, if we are to describe the race, we'll mention this wasn't 100 percent fair. First of all, the start was less than sharply-executed, with one of the Veyrons taking off later than the other. Still, given the identical tech side of these velocity beasts, this wasn't too much of an issue.
Returning to the shenanigans mentioned above (let's not forget the insane Grand Sport Vitesse all-wheel-drive donuts), all these moves have also had a positive effect. To be more precise, the shenanigans, which would've been unimaginable while the machine was still in production, ensured the Veyron remains under the spotlights. And that's no easy feat.
