Now that the Bugatti Veyron has gone out of production, more and more motorized daredevils are willing to race the retired hypercar. The latest example of this comes from a BMW that has turned to extreme methods in order to deal with the Bug.
First of all, we have to explain the hypercar we have here is a standard Veyron, if we may call it so, which means the machine has 1,001 PS at its disposal. And a driver with a sweet spot for racing.

As for the Bavarian machine, this is an E34-generation M5. Many BMW enthusiasts dream about this senior M5, with its old-school feeling making it one of the most craved incarnations of the M5.

However, this M5 has left its naturally-aspirated roots far behind, going down the forced induction route.

The M5's engine compartment now holds an oversized turbo. As it oftenly happens with such machines, the driver doesn't want to share too many tech details, preferring to put the hardware to work and let the result speak for themselves.

With the turbine said to be coming from a truck, the M5 now delivers a tire-melting 900 hp. Remember, this is a tuned vehicle, so we are talking about 900 horses at the wheels.

The two go head to head on airport runway, as we can see in the clips below, which come from GTBoard. The clips allow us to get a good view of the race, as they bring both an inside and an outside view.

The two race from a roll, with the BMW finding traction surprisingly quick. The BMW doesn't hesitate one moment in its quest to take down the Veyron.

And as the M5 pulls away, its exhaust acts like a machine gun, turning the drag race into a war-like scene.

Still, we can't help but wonder how a standing-start race would look like.
