Between pulling the plug on the Chiron and completing the Mistral and Bolide production run, Bugatti has a lot on its plate, which is about to become full with the introduction of an all-new hypercar.
The successor to the Chiron has been rumored multiple times and is not far from being introduced. Looking to find out more about it and putting an end to speculation, Motor1 reached out to Nicole Auger, the brand's chief of communications, who wasn't willing to drop any details about it, save for one crucial fact: that it will debut in mid-2024.

That's great news for the jet set, who will have to wait a few more years before getting their hands on the yet-unnamed hypercar. The model's deliveries are expected to commence in 2026, and it is rumored to be even rarer than the Chiron and its predecessor, the Veyron, which were capped at 500 and 450 units, respectively. However, the exact number will be revealed in due course.

We have yet to learn what powers it. Some speak of a new V16 signed by Cosworth. Others believe it might be Lamborghini's V12 that currently powers the Revuelto flagship supercar or maybe a V8 from the Volkswagen Group. Nevertheless, whatever it is, one thing is certain: it will be "heavily electrified," according to Mate Rimac, the Bugatti-Rimac CEO, who revealed that the official presentation had already taken place behind closed doors at the end of last year.

In terms of styling, it is said to be "amazing, proportionally, technologically, in terms of innovation and in terms of unexpectedness." These were the words of the company's previous Design Director, Achim Anscheidt, who also said that it would "blow people out of the water completely." Anscheidt was responsible for the design before retiring in 2023 and handing over the department's reins to Frank Heyl, who is now tasked with sketching up Bugatti's future rides.

Mind you, while we know basically nothing of the upcoming hypercar, it should be a very impressive machine in every aspect. Whether we're talking about the power, technology features, design, comfort, and so on, it should dwarf not only the Chiron but also the models that were based on it. The only sad part about it is that it won't feature the massive W16 8.0-liter quad-turbo motor that has powered every Bugatti in the Volkswagen Group era, from the Veyron to the Mistral.

As the weeks and months pass, we will probably learn more about it and perhaps see a few prototypes in the open before the grand unveiling scheduled for this summer. We cannot wait to learn its secrets, and we think you feel the same. Are you excited about Bugatti's new toy for the rich?
