According to Bugatti, the La Voiture Noire is the modern reincarnation of the Type 57 SC Atlantic (more on this below). As for the next Batmobile, which we recently saw in greater detail, this might signal a return to car-like machines for Gotham's savior, but its roots lie in the classic muscle genre. Even so, we can't deny the fact that the rendering sitting before us is aimed at portraying a contemporary incarnation of the said mid-1930s icon, or that it resembles the type of machine Batman likes to hoon.
The design study occupying our screens right now comes from Shashank Shekhar, a transportation and automobile design student who used the said Type 57 SC Atlantic, as highlighted in one of the images above.

Keep in mind that Bugatti only built four examples of the sort. One of these, namely the La Voiture Noire (translated as "the black car") remained in the hands of the one who created the model, Ettore Bugatti's son Jean. Alas, after the Nazis took over the company's Molsheim site in 1940, they decided to send the most valuable pieces away by train. Sure, the LVN did leave the factory, but it never reached its destination, with its situation remaining a mystery to this day.

The sculpted appearance of this study mixes traditional Bugatti elements, such as the horseshoe grille, with bits such as the prototype racer-like greenhouse (anybody dreaming of Bugatti entering the upcoming Le Mans Hypercar Class spectacle?). In fact, even the said grille is reinterpreted, perhaps with aerodynamics in mind.

And it seems like this vehicle will only cater to the transportation needs of the one operating its controls.

Now, one might wonder why a digital artist comes up with such a proposal. Well, in this case, the aficionado behind the work explains we're dealing with a project that helped him make progress during the lockdown. And Blender was the 3D modelling software of choice for the project.
