The latest yacht from Italian builder Dynamiq, the GTM 90, comes to bring the best of both worlds: optimal naval architecture and high-end automotive design.
Officially introduced in mid-April 2020, the GTM 90 delivers a superb blend of form and function without the smallest compromise on either. It’s a yacht that can withstand all weather and that delivers solid performance, with all the luxury trimmings the discerning owner has come to expect from any vehicle delivered by German automotive tuning firm Klassen.

Klassen has been customizing car interiors for years, and their impressive roster includes no less than ten national presidents. If they know anything about interiors, it’s how to render them incredibly functional, comfortable and high-quality. That much should be apparent from the video available at the bottom of the page, which doubles as an ad for the collaboration between the two.

It is also visible throughout the GTM 90, particularly in the wheelhouse and stateroom, where the Klassen touch is omnipresent. Klassen designed these spaces from scratch. The rest of the yacht features rich wood paneling and the finest of leathers, Led courtesy lights and mirrors that amplify existing space.

The challenge with the GTM 90 was that it was meant to be used in all types of weather, so it should offer guests the much-needed protection from the elements. Instead of making it longer and bulkier, Dynamiq focused on delivering multiple functionality.

“The yacht needs to be open and full of sea breeze during the daytime, but almost closed when evening comes and the temperature rapidly drops,
” Dynamiq founder and designer Sergei Dobroserdov says.

At the moment, the only way to have large open or closed areas is to lengthen your yacht. But by justifying the ‘IQ’ at the end of the Dynamiq brand name, we had the idea of combining these areas. So the aft beach club, dining area and open-style galley with bar can be transformed within seconds using sliding doors and foldable bulwarks.”

In other words, the area has a winter-garden-style, which means it can be used open to the elements in warm weather. It completely shuts down at the touch of a button for nighttime or cold-weather sailing.

With accommodation for eight guests in four cabins (the dining area can hold up to 16 people, though) and four crew members in another two cabins, the GT 90 comes with a cozy sundeck and a relaxation area in the bow. There’s also a beach club and a forward salon and bar / galley area, while the Bowers & Wilkins audio system delivers high-quality sound for entertaining.

The master suite is full-on Klassen: there’s a circular bed from the Bentley Home collection in there and a two-person hammam in the onyx-finished bathroom. All interior design is by Giuseppina Arena, a longtime Dynamiq partner.

“Dynamiq and Klassen share the same values related to high-end materials, engineering, finishing and maximum comfort on board for their demanding clientele. It's all about flawless perfection and first-class comfort on land and sea,” Paul Klassen, founder & CEO, says of this unique collaboration on the first-edition GTM 90.

The aluminum hull was developed in partnership Van Oossanen Naval Architects in the Netherlands, with the goal of creating an efficient, fast and reliable yacht. Three relatively compact Volvo Penta IPS 1350 hp pods take this yacht to a top speed of 31 knots, with the range estimated at 800 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 17 knots.

The yacht was supposed to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, but had to settle for a more quiet, virtual introduction when the event was canceled due to the international health crisis. Interested parties can order their own GTM 90 online, and there’s good news on that front: there are several options to choose from, which guarantees a more personalized product on delivery.

Construction on the GTM 90 takes about 18 months, with prices on the configurator starting at €7.5 million, which is roughly $8.4 million at today’s exchange rate.
